The origin of haircut

Barber is the name of barber industry in a special period, which appeared in Qing Dynasty. But the word haircut has a very old history, which originated in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. Barbers in Qing Dynasty are very different from traditional barbers in China. The word haircut first appeared in Historical Records of the Song Dynasty. Zhu explained in the sentence "It's a comb" in the Notes to Poetry: "A comb is also a barber clipper." The Book of Songs was written from the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Spring and Autumn Period with a long history. It can be seen that haircut has a long history in China.

As far as the difference between China ancient haircuts and haircuts is concerned, the difference between them is mainly reflected in cultural identity. The ancients believed that the skin of the body was not easily damaged by parents, so the haircut in ancient China would not damage the overall image of people, but would be trimmed as needed to make the hair look more neat and clean. Shaving one's head is a system implemented by the Qing Dynasty to consolidate its rule. Most of the hair on the head needs to be pulled out, which does not conform to China's traditional cultural concept, so the implementation was accompanied by bloody repression at the beginning.
