What parts does the traditional ignition system generally consist of?

The function of the ignition system is to generate electric sparks in the cylinder timely, accurately and reliably under various working conditions and using conditions of the engine, ignite the combustible mixture, and make the engine do work in advance.

The traditional ignition system consists of ignition switch, ignition coil, distributor, spark plug and power supply.

Ignition switch: control instrument circuit

Ignition coil: converts low-voltage DC into high-voltage DC.

Distributor: When the engine is working, the primary circuit of the ignition system is turned on and off, so that high-voltage electricity is generated in the secondary winding of the ignition coil, and the high-voltage electricity generated by the ignition coil is distributed to the spark plugs of the corresponding cylinders according to the ignition time and ignition sequence required by the engine.

Spark plug: introduce the high-voltage electricity generated by the ignition coil into the combustion chamber to ignite the combustible mixture in the combustion chamber.

Power supply: provides the energy needed for the ignition system to work.
