Four elements of physics literacy

The core literacy of physics is the expression of basic knowledge, key ability and scientific attitude that students gradually form in the process of receiving physics education to meet the social development needs of personal lifelong learning. It is the quality with physical characteristics that students focus on through physics learning, and it is the key component of students' scientific literacy. It is mainly composed of four elements: physical concept and application, scientific thinking and innovation, scientific inquiry and innovation, and scientific attitude and responsibility.

1, physical concept and application: basic understanding of matter, motion and interaction, energy, etc. What is formed from the perspective of physics is the refinement and sublimation of physical concepts and laws in the mind. "Physical concept" includes material concept, motion concept, interaction concept, energy concept and its application.

2. Scientific thinking and innovation: the way to understand the essential attributes, internal laws and relationships of objective things from the perspective of physics is an abstract generalization process of building an ideal model based on empirical facts; It is the internalization of scientific thinking methods such as analysis and synthesis, reasoning and argumentation; It is the ability and quality to question and criticize different viewpoints and conclusions on the basis of factual evidence and scientific reasoning, and then put forward creative opinions. "Scientific thinking" mainly includes model construction, scientific reasoning, scientific argumentation, questioning innovation and other elements.

3. Scientific inquiry and innovation: the ability to ask physical questions, form conjectures and hypotheses, obtain and process information, draw conclusions and explain according to evidence, and communicate, evaluate and reflect on the process and results of experimental inquiry. "Experimental inquiry" mainly includes questions, evidence, explanation, communication and other elements.

4. Scientific attitude and responsibility: On the basis of understanding the nature of science and the relationship among science, technology, society and environment (STSE), gradually form a correct attitude and responsibility for science and technology. "Scientific attitude and responsibility" mainly includes scientific essence, scientific attitude, scientific ethics, STSE and other elements.
