Noun Interpretation (Introduction to Literature): Realism
Realistic literary trend of thought is the product of the establishment and development of capitalist system in western Europe. Due to the exposure of various drawbacks of the capitalist system, the romantic enthusiasm of people in realistic literary theory books and the disillusionment of the "ideal kingdom", a calm and pragmatic social psychology has been formed. Realistic literature is a literary reflection of this sharp and complicated class contradiction and social psychology. In terms of ideology, dialectics, materialist philosophy, utopian socialism theory and new achievements of natural science all have different degrees of influence on the rise of realistic literature. Realistic literature inherited the fine tradition of literature since ancient Greece, and the enlightenment literature in the eighteenth century made direct preparations for the rise of realism in the nineteenth century.
