Crops in Different Regions of China

1. Tropical: In Hainan Province and southern Yunnan Province, Guangdong Province and Taiwan Province Province, rice is harvested three times a year, mainly rice, sugarcane and natural rubber;

2. Subtropics: south of Qinling-Huaihe River and east of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with two or three crops a year, mainly rice, winter wheat, cotton and rape;

3. Warm temperate zone: the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River and most parts of southern Xinjiang, with one crop a year to three crops a year, mainly winter wheat, corn, cotton and peanuts;

4. Mid-temperate zone: Northeast China, most of Inner Mongolia, northern Xinjiang, harvested once a year, mainly including spring wheat, corn, flax, soybeans, beets, etc.

5. Cold temperate zone: northern Heilongjiang Province and northeastern Inner Mongolia, harvested once a year, mainly spring wheat and potatoes;

6. Qinghai-Tibet Plateau: parts of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau are harvested once a year, mainly highland barley.
