Environmental pollution caused by the use of polymer materials

Because polymer materials have good performance, therefore, more and more favored by the people, but in the actual use of some problems still exist, the impact on people's experience. For example, the current people favored rigid fiberboard and composite flooring, containing a certain amount of free formaldehyde, seriously affecting the health of residents. And some decoration materials, its toxic substances may trigger young children to produce pediatric leukemia, in addition, the current pediatric leukemia patients are increasing. At the same time, the medical profession believes that environmental pollution and leukemia have a close relationship, in addition, some of the polymer materials in the additives and residues, such as sealing materials and friction materials such as asbestos, the human body caused by the more serious damage. These problems in the use of polymer materials have a certain impact [6].

Environmental pollution caused by waste

For the waste of polymer materials, there are two main sources:

(1) the waste material produced in the production process.

(2) products in the end use, resulting in waste. In the production of waste is generally formed in the scraps or semi-finished products, such waste polymer materials can be easily recycled, reuse, and will not cause serious damage to the environment. The end-of-product waste is the main cause of environmental pollution, the product is usually disposable agricultural film and packaging, etc., and its raw materials are generally PE film, this material is durable, transparent, lightweight characteristics.

Currently, the main treatment of waste PE film is through underground burial or burning to realize, however, this material buried in the ground within 200 years will not be fully degraded, and combustion treatment caused by pollution is more serious, in the combustion process will produce a large number of CO2 and CO. CO will cause a serious lack of oxygen, while CO2 will make the greenhouse effect problem more serious. Therefore, with the increase in the use of PE film, the environmental pollution problem is more serious, white pollution is the current problem that needs to be solved.
