How much influence does China's classical literature have in the West?

If we study China's ancient literature in chronological order, it will be difficult to grasp the relationship between the mainstream literary forms in different dynasties, which is the educational feature of the history of middle school literature in China. One of the requirements for Chinese majors is that students must master the connections and differences between mainstream literature in different periods. For many people who have not systematically studied China's ancient literature, "landscape poetry" and "pastoral poetry" are just labels, and it is normal for them to put them down when they pick up ancient literature in middle school. But in fact, the culture behind these labels is not isolated, but influenced, supported, born, evolved and independent. Moreover, every poetic style is not simply expressing the literal meaning of the name of that style, but full of its causes, processes and results. For example, the poems about immortals, which rose in Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, already contained the author's longing for official positions, lamenting the political darkness, despairing of reality, turning to a better world and yearning for a perfect world of immortals, so as to imagine the mourning before washing. There are reflections on reality, on the relationship between man and nature, and occasionally on extreme philosophical issues. It is not inferior to the questioning of human nature in the representative works of western excellent literature in the same period-this refutes that China ancient literature is not as good as western literature in depth.
