Background information on Hami Station

Located in the eastern part of Xinjiang, Hami is the gateway from Xinjiang to the mainland of the motherland. Its geographic coordinates are 91°06′33″-96°23′00″ east longitude and 40°52′47″-45°05′33″ north latitude, with an average elevation of 2692.1 meters. Hami has a typical continental climate, characterized by "hot in the south and cool in the north". The total area is 153,000 square kilometers, accounting for 9% of the total area of Xinjiang. The total population is 510,000 people. Regional jurisdiction over the city of Hami, Barkun Kazakh Autonomous County and Yigu County, with 38 townships (towns).
