Traditional management of inventory management

Problems existing in traditional enterprise inventory management

Inventory management is an important part of enterprise management (this paper takes manufacturing enterprises as an example). In the production and operation activities of enterprises, inventory management should not only ensure the demand for raw materials and spare parts in production workshops, but also directly affect the purchase and sale activities of purchasing and sales departments. In order to revitalize the working capital of enterprises and speed up the capital turnover, it is directly related to the operating efficiency of enterprises to minimize the capital pressure on the premise of ensuring supply. According to the investigation of inventory management of many domestic manufacturing enterprises and consulting relevant materials, it is found that the following problems generally exist in inventory management of manufacturing enterprises:

(1) Unable to obtain inventory information in time. In the process of enterprise management, it is sometimes necessary to know the current inventory of various parts. However, due to the variety and quantity of parts, it is necessary to conduct detailed accounting, which is not only time-consuming but also prone to errors, thus affecting the rapid and effective operation of enterprises.

(2) The inventory information is not accurate enough. The warehouse administrator should modify the inventory information, borrowing information and material shortage information at any time according to various delivery orders, return orders, picking orders, issuing orders, picking orders and return orders after handling the materials in and out of the warehouse to reflect the inventory situation. The main problem in the work is that due to the variety and quantity of parts, the inventory records are often not strictly consistent with the actual inventory. Therefore, it is necessary to correct mistakes through inventory, which is time-consuming and heavy workload.

(3) unable to know the distribution and production materials in time. After the work order is issued, due to the complicated relationship between the parts and the production line, when feeding each batching point according to the personal experience of the feeder, there is often a lack of records and related information about the distribution and use of materials, and it is often the lack of materials in the production line that leads to the confusion of production and materials, and it is impossible to understand the actual situation of material distribution and use.

Market demand is increasingly diversified and personalized, and the cycle of product upgrading is getting shorter and shorter, which requires manufacturing enterprises to change the status quo of inventory management.
