The first automobile factory in China was born in a wasteland. 1In June, 949, President Mao Zedong visited the Soviet Union and agreed with the Soviet government to provide comprehensive assistance to China to build a medium-sized truck factory with an annual output of 30,000. 195 1 At the beginning of the year, according to the instructions of the State Council Prime Minister Zhou Enlai, it was decided to build the first automobile factory in the northwest of Mengjiatun Station in Changchun.

During the period of building the factory, FAW, from the factory director to the workers, were eager to learn and passed the cultural barrier, production technology barrier and enterprise management barrier. Run to the education building before dawn in the morning and study late in the office and dormitory at night. FAW has formed a good learning atmosphere since its establishment, which has become a tradition and enterprise spirit of FAW.
