What exactly are the bottles of ordinary Maotai made of?

Moutai's wine bottles are used to identify authenticity.

With the expansion of the scale of production of Moutai wine and the increase in the amount of bottles used, the bottles used for the packaging of Moutai wine also continue to seek a more adaptable manufacturer. At present, ordinary Maotai wine bottles are mainly supplied by four manufacturers, whose codes are printed on the bottom of the bottles. For example: "HB", "MB" "CKK", "mouth".

Moutai wine, around 1956, followed the earthenware ceramic bottles produced locally in Renhuai. This kind of ceramic bottle is divided into two kinds in shape, one is gourd-shaped, like a wine altar; a kind of barrel-shaped bottle, because of its production when three sections are manufactured, so it is called three sections of the bottle. By the 1960s, the market reflected that the traditional Maotai bottle was leaking rather badly and suggested the use of glass bottles, so the factory began to experiment accordingly.

Reasons for using glass bottles for Maotai wine:

Because this kind of bottles are protected from light and ultraviolet rays, and are more conducive to the storage of Maotai wine. In the pre-generation of wine bottles, milky white glass bottles were mainly used for exporting Moutai wines, and ceramic bottles were still used for domestic sales of Moutai wines. Later, with the increase of glass bottle production, ceramic bottles were gradually withdrawn from the packaging history of Maotai wine.
