Difference between ZIF and MOF, is ZIF a class of MOF?
ZIF is a subset of MOF, mof has a broader concept.
The difference between ZIF and MOF is as follows:
1. Different structural materials
ZIF: It refers to zeolite imidazolium ester skeleton structural materials. Organic imidazolium ester crosslinked connected to the transition metal to form a kind of tetrahedral framework.
MOF: metal-organic framework material. Has a three-dimensional pore structure, generally with metal ions as the connecting point and organic ligand support constituting a spatial 3D extension.
2, different properties
ZIF: high stability, high porosity and organic function, good thermal and chemical stability.
MOF: high porosity, low density, large specific surface area, regular pore channels, adjustable pore size and the advantages of topological diversity and tailorability.
3. Different fields of application
ZIF: efficient catalytic and separation processes.
MOF: gas storage and separation, catalysis, sensing, drug transportation and other fields have a wide range of applications.
