Speech on the feeling and process of paper-cutting
Hello everyone! The topic of my speech is "Chinese paper-cutting art".
China's paper-cutting art has a long history. Paper-cutting has become the most popular folk traditional art because it is easy to get materials and close to life.
Since Shang Dynasty, some people used gold foil and silver foil and carved leather as decorations. According to legend, after the death of Emperor Wu's favorite princess, Li, Emperor Wu missed him so much that he had a portrait cut with hemp paper, which was probably the earliest paper-cutting. Paper-cutting originated in the Han Dynasty, but it really flourished in the Southern and Northern Dynasties after the Qing Dynasty. Now you can also find traces of paper-cutting in ancient books:
"An empty building wins the fine customs, and the ribbon-cutting is a golden wind"-Tang and Li Shangyin.
"To Tianjie, the old capital, there are people who cut all kinds of colors and patterns, which are extremely beautiful, as they wish."
Paper-cutting is mainly hinged with scissors in folk, and artists use carving knives, or they can use more paper with one knife. During festivals, people cut out stories of flowers, animals or people with colored paper and stick them on the windows, which are called "window grilles" and the lintels are called "doorplates", which are used for decoration, as well as gifts or embroidery patterns.
Paper-cutting can continue to be handed down from generation to generation in the hands of skilled people in rural areas, and it is silently composing a silent movement that allows us to see the exquisite traditional paper-cutting art in the history of national art.
Thank you, my speech is over!
