Loyalty, filial piety, courtesy, honesty and shame: short stories in classical Chinese.
A few days ago, after writing the words "filial piety, filial piety, loyalty, faithfulness, propriety, righteousness, honesty and shame" on the external wall of the kindergarten, someone asked me what these words mean, how to explain them to students and how to educate them.
How to educate is the word "example".
"Filial piety, filial piety, loyalty, faithfulness, courtesy, righteousness, honesty and shame" are the foundation of being a man and the whole essence of the moral education content of our great sage Confucius. It is also the eight virtues of life: filial piety, filial piety, loyalty, faith, courtesy, righteousness, honesty and shame.
Filial piety: it is filial piety. Filial piety is the duty of children, and filial piety is to repay the kindness of parents. To put it bluntly, it can be loyalty to the country, which is also a big "filial piety."
Xun: Yes. Between brothers and sisters, brothers love and help each other. Expand and fill it, treat friends with brothers and sisters, make people eliminate contradictions and be humble to each other.
Loyalty: it is loyalty. Loyalty to the country is the responsibility as a citizen, that is, loyalty to the motherland and the people. "Loyalty" means loyalty to the organization and to one's job responsibilities.
Letter: It's credit. Credit friends, keep your word to your friends, and don't break your word. When you come to social service, you must "keep your word and respect your deeds". You must believe what you say and don't deceive others. When you do something, you must have a respectful attitude, do it seriously, and never perfunctory.
Li: It's etiquette. Treat people with courtesy, abide by various regulations and abide by the law (including courtesy). Students should salute teachers, parents and guests. Salute is not only superficial, but also inner, which is the embodiment of one's moral cultivation.
Righteousness: It's loyalty. In other words, people should have a sense of justice and the spirit of being brave. No matter who is in trouble, we should try our best to help and solve the problem. Be moral to your friends, be selfless and help others, and have no intention. (Of course, this is not narrow "buddy loyalty", not benevolence, but ignorance. )
Lian: This is incorruptible. There are honest people, no matter what they see, they can't afford it, and they don't want to take advantage of it. Instead, they cultivate a selfless spirit.
Shame: shame. Never do anything unreasonable or against your conscience. If people are * * *, they are animals. Shame is also self-esteem. Confucius said: "Knowing shame is almost brave". It is also a sign of courage to correct mistakes.
These eight words are the foundation of being a man, and the above is also the general meaning. There is no expansion (nor can it be said in a word), but it is great to be able to do these things roughly, let alone explore its profound meaning.
2. Filial piety, loyalty, courtesy, righteousness and shame There is a saying in the original text of Confucius: "He is also a filial brother, and few people are good at committing crimes; It's not easy to make mistakes, but it's not easy to make mistakes. Gentleman's business is based on inheritance and Taoism. Filial piety is also the foundation of benevolence! " Confucius students with children have famous surnames. If they are 43 years younger than Confucius, they are 33 years younger. It is more credible to say that they are 33 years younger. The Analects of Confucius records that Confucius' students generally call themselves Zi, while Youruo calls themselves Zi (in addition, Qian Ou calls himself Zi, which is another matter), so many people suspect that the Analects of Confucius was compiled by their students. But if you have a son, it may be that he was respected by Confucius' disciples after his death (this historical fact can be found in Tan Gong in the Book of Rites, Teng Wengong in Mencius and Biography of Zhong Ni's Disciples in Historical Records). As for Zuo Zhuan, if there is a "Guo Shi" who has been mourning for the public for eight years, it may not be enough to make him be regarded as a son.
Filial piety is the correct attitude of children towards their parents in slave society; Brother, the sound and meaning are the same as "Xi" and the pronunciation is the same as "Ti". Brother's correct attitude towards his brother. In feudal times, filial piety was also regarded as the basic moral force to maintain the social system and social order at that time.
3. "On Loyalty, Filial Piety, Loyalty and Shame" Loyalty means loyalty to the cause, duty, nation and country.
Filial piety is to honor parents and the elderly.
Honesty is what Xiu De did, so he must follow the example of heaven, be a real person, tell the truth, do practical things, and oppose fraud and hypocrisy.
A letter is a letter that keeps its promise, matches words with deeds, and is honest and trustworthy.
Etiquette is civilization, courtesy, knowledge and humanistic accomplishment.
Righteousness means justice, honesty, friendship, justice, openness, decent style and no intrigue.
Integrity means being honest and noble, selfless and without desire, not occupying or greedy, leading an honest and clean life and serving the public.
Shame is a sense of shame and the most basic bottom line for being a man.
These eight basic morals have become the cornerstone of the moral standards of the descendants of the Yellow Emperor and the virtues handed down by the Chinese nation for thousands of years. Traditionally, China people's view of human nature is "loyalty, filial piety, benevolence and righteousness" and "courtesy, righteousness and shame" advocated by Confucianism.
Loyalty and filial piety come first, and China people respect "heaven and earth, a monarch and a teacher". To put it simply, you should know the rules and not be bullied by your superiors.
The so-called "benevolence" is also about interpersonal relationships. The word "benevolence" means "two people", that is, caring, compassionate and broad-minded. The simplified glyph of "righteousness" means "two people are United as one", which means sharing weal and woe.
Another way of saying "courtesy, righteousness and shame" is the "self-denial and self-respect" that Kong Old Master Q talks about every day, that is, patience and restraint, don't say anything if you are indecent, see no evil, and don't listen if you are indecent.
I would like to add that the ancients believed that courtesy should be the criterion of action, honesty should be honest and clean, and shame should be a sense of shame. It refers to social moral standards and codes of conduct.
If these eight words are really done, it will not be easy.
4. In the long history, moral civilization, courtesy, honesty and shame have not only created splendid culture, but also formed the traditional virtues of ancient nations, which are valuable spiritual wealth of the Chinese nation. For example, when Kong Rong was a child, respecting the elderly became a beautiful talk: "Cheng Menxue Pear" is a model of respecting teachers. Laozi told us in the Tao Te Ching, "Be a man for one day and be moral for one day".
All these fully reflect the etiquette and morality of China people. Nowadays, primary school students have a weak sense of civility and manners, and have poor manners and habits. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the civilized etiquette education of primary school students. Gradually, Chinese people began to pay attention to our traditional culture, and we heard the Disciples' Rules and San Zi Jing on campus for a long time. Although many children have been able to recite it skillfully, it is still difficult to understand its meaning deeply. It can be seen that the education of primary school students' civilized etiquette norms is urgent. Throughout history, the good behavior of successful people is to persist for a long time, form habits and form nature. Therefore, it is very important to educate pupils on customs and habits, but it is not easy to do this well in practical work. We still have a long way to go to make the education of customs and habits achieve tangible results and make civilization a good habit that every student has for life.
In recent years, our civilized etiquette education practice has proved that the implementation of civilized etiquette education for primary school students must proceed from their physical and mental characteristics, from the "small" point of view, from the "real" point, close to students' life reality, and improve students' understanding of civilized etiquette requirements.
