China unique ancient city pool, an ancient castle like a giant cross, do you know where it is?

On the east side of Ganjia Grassland in Xiahe, Gannan, there is an ancient castle left over from the Western Han Dynasty-Bajiaocheng, named after its eight corners. Bajiaocheng ruins are basically intact, and the city walls are ordinary Tibetan villages. The walls of Bajiaocheng are hollow crosses. There are moats, moats and outlines outside the city, and there is an outer city outside the south gate. In the design of the castle, it broke through the previous square and rectangular frames, and became a system of its own, which was unique among the existing ancient city pools in China.

The main purpose of my visit to Gannan is to feel the blue sky, white clouds and unobstructed sunshine on the plateau. This is what I have been looking forward to living on the plain 40 meters above sea level and looking at the gray sky all day. It is about 300 kilometers from Lanzhou in the morning to Xiahe County via Linxia City. Bajiaocheng is located at the intersection of Yangqu River and Yangla River in the east of Ganjiatan, Xiahe County, Gansu Province. It was the transportation hub and military center of ancient Gansu and Qinghai.

Bajiaocheng, which means in Tibetan? Wanzi city? Is it actually hollow? Ten? Zicheng and Bajiaocheng are military fortresses on the ancient Silk Road, and they are very famous defensive cities! Maintain a complete urban attack and defense system! There are city walls, khaki buildings and so on. And on a large scale. These houses are mainly khaki. Pass by with friends and feel the charm of octagonal city! There are not many tourists here, and there is a sense of desolation!

The perimeter of the city is 2 193.4 meters, and the city covers an area of about 300 mu. Inside and outside the city, there are Guo, water diversion to protect the city, and trenches and octagons echo, which are very distinctive and have residents inside. If you are interested in history, you can go and have a look. Forget it if you're not interested, but it's on the Ganges grassland. By the way, Bajiao City, an ancient city, is a monument, leaving only the city wall with a door in it.

This is the only place on the Ganges Prairie where tickets are collected. From dozens of wooden stairs to high places, you can overlook grasslands and ancient cities. The stairs are very high, so students who are uncomfortable should walk slowly, but the scenery above is not bad. After coming down, you can see an ancient city village. The city wall is mixed with earth and stone, and the ancient city wall is severely weathered, which is very historical. The loess piled up into a wall is still very powerful until now.

There are three Tibetan and Han people living in this city. In the past, Bajiao City had two gates, north and south. It is said that because bad things always happen in the city, the north gate is blocked and a west gate is opened. I can vaguely feel the heavy history from the wall left over from the Han Dynasty, but at least I have seen the history of large and small. Ancient city wall? People, but only this wall moved me. The wall exudes historical vicissitudes and is intriguing.

Boarding the observation deck of Bajiaocheng, the sudden change of altitude made us gasp all the way, and pressed back the hat that had to be separated from our heads several times against the strong wind. Overlooking the octagonal city, I personally confirmed its cross-shaped wall, surrounded by mountains and low clouds, and quite a few sentient beings bowed to this illusion. Standing on the observation deck, you will see the mountains opposite Bajiao City, and the momentum of dark clouds pressing the city will suddenly come to your face, as if the drums have sounded not far away.

Many people stagger to the city head and look into the city. You will find a small village with dozens of simple adobe houses paved around the earth wall to form their own small yard. The city is quiet and there is no one to see. Because I am on the wall, I can't see the overall appearance of the octagonal city and its unique eight corners. The whole city looks shabby and dusty. I especially like it. It feels like a fortress in the north of the city.

If you want to take a panoramic view of Bajiaocheng, you have to drive behind Bajiaocheng, and climbing to the top of the mountain is the best shooting point. Everywhere here is as beautiful as a painting. The ruins of the city bring us that desolate three-dimensional beauty. The hills in the distance and the rape fields nearby give us a vibrant natural beauty. In the face of such a scene, everything seems pale.

The ruins of Bajiaocheng are very quiet, and even in the peak season, there are few tourists. There are houses near the site, and vehicles can pass through the site fence. At present, it seems that the site has not been well protected. Now, there are still residents living a simple pastoral life in the ancient city wall. Standing on the yellow city wall, watching colorful flags flying, flocks of cattle and sheep, and blending history with reality, they suddenly have a unique and wonderful feeling.
