The difference between white latex and woodworking glue
Extended data
White latex is obtained by emulsion polymerization with water as dispersion medium, and it is a water-based environment-friendly adhesive. It is widely used in wood, furniture, decoration, printing, textile, leather, paper making and other industries because of its advantages such as good film forming, high adhesive strength, fast curing speed, good acid resistance, good alkali resistance, convenient use, low price and no organic solvent.
White latex is a water-soluble adhesive, which is a thermoplastic adhesive polymerized by vinyl acetate monomer under the action of initiator. Usually referred to as white latex or PVAC latex, the chemical name is polyvinyl acetate adhesive, which is synthesized from acetic acid and ethylene, and titanium dioxide (light calcium carbonate, talcum powder and other low-grade powders) is added. ). Then emulsion polymerization is carried out to obtain milky viscous liquid.
Fast drying, good initial viscosity and good operability; Strong adhesion and high compressive strength; Strong heat resistance.
