How to evaluate the value and limitations of Confucian culture in China traditional culture?

As the mainstream of China's traditional culture, Confucian culture, on the whole, has more value than limitations.

From a personal point of view, the value of Confucian culture is reflected in the fact that "benevolence and righteousness" set up a correct three views for individuals. As the teacher said, benevolence includes loyalty in a positive sense and forgiveness in a negative sense. "Don't do to others what you don't want others to do to you" and "Don't do to others what you don't want others to do to you" have become the pursuit and bottom line of people with a correct outlook on life. Without Confucian culture, we don't know whether China traditional culture will have more excellent cultures as the mainstream, thus helping individuals to establish a more perfect outlook on life, values and world outlook and cultivate noble character closer to saints!

From the point of view of family and country, the value of Confucian culture is reflected in that "rites and music" have formulated laws and regulations, good customs and ethics for the stable existence of the collective. Confucianism "was born in troubled times", which took root, grew and expanded in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. Later, it was regarded as the "exclusive respect" of official learning by the rulers of the Western Han Dynasty. Its role in the stability of the home country can be seen. Moreover, on the one hand, Confucianism advocates "preventing foreign summer" and attaches great importance to stimulating national spirit and patriotism. At the same time, it advocates national harmony and friendly coexistence with the broad mind of "those who are near are happy, those who are far away are coming" and "all brothers in the four seas". Therefore, Confucian culture is of great value to social harmony and stability.

Combined with my own experience, I once thought that Confucian classics had no reference significance for me. However, with the growth of experience, now I stand in a high position in a university and realize the value of Confucianism again. As an aspiring college student, my development goal is to learn from the scriptures, cultivate one's morality, keep one's family in order, govern the country and level the world. I am surprised that the values of two thousand years ago still apply today! I also lament how many people don't really appreciate the value of Confucian culture.

Of course, there is no culture without restrictions. As a kind of human culture, Confucian culture naturally has its own shortcomings and deficiencies. For example, the unequal treatment of women by the ritual and music system-three obedience and four virtues. It has caused the oppression of women in traditional society for more than two thousand years.

In a word, I think that after historical elutriation, the most core and classic part of Confucian culture will be inherited and carried forward, its value will be continuously improved, and its limitations will be continuously reduced.
