Long-summer rice is a traditional food in the southern part of the long-summer solar terms. It first spread from the countryside of Ningbo. The traditional long-summer rice is made of five ingredients, and now many areas in the south still have the custom of eating long-summer rice in long summer.
In the old long summer festival, five-color rice was cooked with five-color beans, such as red beans, soybeans, black beans, mung beans and mung beans, which were called long summer rice.
At present, some families in urban and rural areas in Ningbo still retain this ancient style, but the ingredients of long summer rice have been replaced by five other foods: broad beans, soybeans, bamboo shoots, mustard greens, and bacon or bacon, which is called five kinds of rice.
In ancient times, eye diseases were common, and the color of Japanese beans was black. In order to eliminate eye diseases, people eat Japanese bean rice all year round to protect their eyes from being as black as fresh Japanese beans and from diseases and disasters.
