What is a theoretical hypothesis?

Theoretical hypothesis is a method of extracting problem variables in social science research, which is used to help eliminate unnecessary variables in theoretical models, retain the essence and research focus of problems, and facilitate people to express a thing through mathematical models and conduct research.

Theoretical assumptions are often used in social sciences such as economics. There are many complex variables in this field, which influence and interact with each other. For the convenience of research, people generally think that some secondary variables are in a special state, so that they can be easily ignored or calculated, thus simplifying complex problems, and grasping the essence of the problems and studying them in depth.

After a theory is formed on the basis of a series of assumptions, later researchers can gradually relax the assumptions on the basis of previous studies, further study and explain the matter more completely, so as to make theoretical progress.
