Introduction of Electrochromism

Electrochromism refers to the phenomenon that the optical properties of a material (reflectance, transmittance, absorbance, etc.) under the action of an applied electric field undergoes a stable and reversible color change, which is manifested in the appearance as a reversible change in color and transparency. Materials with electrochromic properties are called electrochromic materials, and devices made of electrochromic materials are called electrochromic devices.
