The Constitution stipulates: "It is the sacred duty of the people of China and every citizen of China to defend the motherland and resist aggression. It is the glorious duty of the people and citizens of China to perform military service according to law and participate in militia organizations. " The Military Service Law stipulates: "China people and citizens, regardless of nationality, race, occupation, family background, religious belief and education level, have the obligation to perform military service in accordance with the provisions of this Law."
