September-October (Ashoj/Ashwin)

Pachali Bhairab FestivalThis festival is celebrated on the fourth day of the two-week period in September or early October when the moon is at its brightest. This festival is celebrated with large-scale rituals and is a kind of festival for exorcism of ghosts and evil spirits.

Eid al-Adha (Dasain) The biggest annual festival in Nepal. It lasts for 15 days and ends on the full moon in late September or early October. It is six months apart from Eid al-Adha, the month of logic. It is celebrated on a large scale in all parts of the country.

October-November (Kartik)

The festival of Divine Adha (Tihar) originated in India and is known for its colorful festival lights. In Nepal, it is the second most important festival after Eid al-Adha. The five-day festival celebrations begin in late October or early November. It mainly consists of a number of activities to honor animals. Later in the festival, Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, is said to descend to earth, so the Nepali people greet the goddess of wealth with brilliant lights.

Mani Rimdu, an important Sherpa festival, is celebrated at the famous Tengboche Temple. It is celebrated for three days with masked dances in Tibetan Buddhist colors and traditional operas. It celebrates the victory of Buddhism over Benjaminism.
