The Waldorf-Astoria New York 1893, located in New York, USA, was built in 1893 by William Waldorf Astor.
In 1896, John Jacob Astor IV, William's cousin and also his neighbor, built the equally atmospheric Astoria Hotel nearby. The two hotels were later connected by a promenade of more than 300 meters and became a family under the name "Waldorf-Astor".
