What is the goal of cultivating children's Wushu?

The primary goal of children's Wushu learning is to enhance children's physique and promote their all-round, harmonious and healthy development through Wushu education; The second is to feel and inherit the charm of Wushu, one of China's traditional cultures, and cultivate children's interest in Wushu.

The Content of Children's Wushu Education

The choice of teaching content must be based on the goal of children's Wushu education. Therefore, when comprehensively analyzing various Wushu teaching contents, we should fully consider the characteristics of children's physical development and psychological development, so that children can fully feel the charm of Wushu as one of the excellent traditional cultures in China. Wushu has its own rules and categories. I refer to the classification of Wushu forms in the latest China Wushu Course compiled by the National Physical Education Textbook Committee, and draw up the classification of children's Wushu teaching content.

Children's Wushu teaching is based on individuals, and it is necessary to focus on solving the problem of single practice. Among them, single-practice boxing is divided into Changquan, Tai Ji Chuan and Nanquan according to the genre. However, every change is the same, and any classification has its indispensable and most basic things. Boxing has the basic skills of boxing, and equipment has the basic skills of equipment. In martial arts for the purpose of strengthening the body, no matter how many classifications there are, it is basically inseparable from a limited number of body parts such as hands, arms, legs and feet.

Hand shape

The hand movements in Changquan mainly include fist, palm and hook. Tai Ji Chuan's hand shape is basically similar to that of Changquan, but there are some differences in details: Tai Ji Chuan's fist pays attention to "the fist should be empty, the palm should be slightly empty", Changquan only requires four fingers to be close together, and the thumb should be tightly tied to the second knuckle of the index finger and middle finger; Tai Ji Chuan's palm requires the tiger's mouth to be rounded, and the long fist requires the thumb to be tightly locked with the tiger's mouth; The hook rule is the same, the long fist emphasizes strength, and Tai Ji Chuan pursues natural relaxation; The hand types of Nanquan are complicated, mainly including fist, willow palm, Tiger Claw, crane-billed hand and single finger. Nanquan's hand shape is specific and strict. Motivation is the focus of Nanquan teaching. Nanquan requires "urging strength with qi and practicing explosive force." [3] In the future, we should learn specialized martial arts to lay the foundation, so in the choice of hand type, we should choose fist and palm;

marching type

In Changquan, lunge, lunge, follow-up step, imaginary step and rest step are the main five steps, so is Tai Ji Chuan, but Nanquan is not. It divides the steps into nine categories: lunge, lunge, imaginary step, turn, dragon riding, kneeling step, half lunge, independent step and single butterfly step. Look at their types, lunge, lunge and imaginary step are the most widely used, and the requirements are similar, so we should choose these three types of steps;

skill

Changquan takes boxing, boxing and pushing hands as the basic techniques, and pays attention to punching powerfully, with eyes moving at will or moving with the situation; There are many techniques in Taijiquan, such as sliding, squeezing, pressing and lifting, which pay attention to natural roundness; Nanquan is divided into left and right forward punches, left and right side punches, left and right bumping punches, left and right throwing punches, left and right hanging punches, left and right sweeping punches, left and right whipping punches, left and right splitting punches, left and right pushing hands, picking hands, standard palms, left and right pushing hands, left and right grabbing claws, left and right crane-billed hands, curved bridges, circle bridges, slab bridges, sunken bridges, arm bridges and cut bridges. So technically, I suggest focusing on the basic skills of Changquan.

Paitui

There are three kinds of footwork in Changquan: hitting step, padding step and arc step. Tai Ji Chuan has three kinds of footwork: forward, backward and horizontal. Nanquan has three steps: step up, step back, step drag, step cover, step push, step triangle and step unicorn. Footwork is the foundation of Wushu, and any action can't be separated from footwork. Therefore, the choice of footwork should be compatible and comprehensive.

Leg method

Changquan has forehand kick, side kick, inner leg, outer leg swing, bouncing leg, side kick and leg sweeping, while Tai Ji Chuan has kicking and cheating. Nanquan has front kick, front nail leg, step leg, side kick and horizontal nail leg; The essence of the long fist and leg method lies in "steady steps, smooth strength and good spirit" [4] thinking is to cooperate with stable steps, move without chaos, push the momentum with steps, be flexible in fists and legs, reach the stress point smoothly, and stretch the body tall and straight; Tai Ji Chuan's footwork pays attention to "potential and potential follow potential", which means energetic. Move slowly and uniformly when shaking your legs, so that the potential is connected and continuous, as comfortable and smooth as running water; However, Nanquan's leg technique is mainly based on "tying horses", and its legs are solid and stable, which is the basis of "bridge". Nanquan proverb says that "the hand is a copper hammer and the foot is a horse", which is the truth;

Short program

According to the characteristics of children's physical and mental growth and development, the excitability of children's brain cells is easy to spread and the concentration time is short during this period; Muscle contains a lot of water, protein and inorganic salts, so it is elastic. Muscles mainly develop longitudinally, with good ductility and wide range of activities. Ligaments are easy to stretch and deform, muscles are relatively tender, strength is weak, endurance is poor, fatigue is easy, and many other factors make it impossible for them to have a long-term high-intensity physique to complete long-term routines. High-intensity martial arts practice can only choose short-term low-intensity practice, that is, short routines. However, because children's Wushu has no special Wushu routines like primary and secondary school Wushu and university Wushu, the source of short routines can only be created, supplemented and improved by Wushu educators on the basis of studying and teaching the basic skills of Wushu.

other

There are many moves in Changquan that are quite catchy. For example, whirlwind foot, flying foot, flying lotus, oolong twisting column, tongue twister and so on. These movements are simple and practical, and beautiful, which can greatly increase children's interest in learning martial arts; Breathing control in Tai Ji Chuan is the essence of China Wushu, which is of great benefit to children's body and mind. Before the start of Tai Ji Chuan, there is usually a period of "meditation", that is to say, concentrate, relax all over, eliminate other distractions, and be in a state of no mind or intention, and pay attention to breathing and breathing regardless of forward, backward and horizontal; In Nanquan, "yelling makes the situation change color, and punching makes the landslide bald" is even more imposing;

In the choice of teaching content of children's Wushu, we should learn from the strengths of many families and take its essence. To sum up, the content of children's Wushu teaching should be based on low-intensity basic skills such as boxing, palm and foot, supplemented by self-made short routine teaching, and explore progress under the premise of fully considering children's physical and mental health.
