1 Overview

Patent is short for patent right, which is an exclusive right. To obtain a patent, the content of the invention must be disclosed. Thus, patented technology is public technology, not secret technology.

1) Inventions

The inventions referred to in the Patent Law are divided into two major categories, namely, product inventions (e.g., machines, instruments, equipment and appliances, etc.) and method inventions (methods of manufacture).

2 Process of Patent Application
