Why didn't China traditional society develop manor economy?
In the feudal society of China, the manor economy was not developed. After the disintegration of slavery in China, land can be bought and sold freely, and the small-scale peasant economy with one household (i.e. yeoman) has become a common commercial form.
Basic information
Manor economy refers to the economic base based on tenant farmers and servants. Since the emergence of private land system in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period in China, farmers have been forced to sell their fields because of their heavy living burden, and the so-called big landlords have emerged.
In the Han dynasty, the gap between the rich and the poor was even greater. After the Three Kingdoms inherited the Han Dynasty, although their political system was flexible in profit and loss, the relations of production remained unchanged, and the economic base was still a feudal society dominated by tenant farmers and servants, so the landlord class at that time occupied a very strong position in society.
Wu's manor economy inherited the characteristics of landlord economy in Han dynasty, but it was obviously more prosperous. This is because: First, during the war at the end of the Han Dynasty, the northern rural economy went bankrupt, the number of refugees increased sharply, and the purchasing power decreased greatly, which led to a heavy blow or collapse of industry and commerce. Second, a large number of refugees fled to Jiangnan to escape the disaster of war. In addition, commercial capital goes south to invest in land.
