Alternative preschools, OK?

It is said that 3 to 6 years of age is the normal period for children to go to kindergarten, which is a normal phenomenon in society, but there is such a group of people who do not intend to send their children to kindergarten in this time, but choose to educate their children at home, so that the children at home "school". We call this phenomenon "special" pre-school education. I would like to say a few words about this.

This is really a special idea and a new approach. I've looked online at some of the posts and articles on this topic, and most of the results are skeptical and wait-and-see attitude towards this "special" preschool education. However, there are some cases of people doing this "special" preschool, and these people are doing it themselves.

I don't think we can dismiss this approach out of hand. Now let's analyze the psychological motivation of these parents who hold the idea of "special" preschool education. I think there are a few points:

1. Some parents are not very confident in the current education system, and they are worried that if they give their children to kindergartens in the next three years, they will not be able to meet their educational expectations.

2. Some parents feel that by leaving their children at home for education, they can prolong the parent-child time with their children and enhance the parent-child relationship.

3. These parents feel that 0 to 6 years old is a critical period of children's growth, and that doing a good job of nurturing their children during this period of time is crucial to their future development, so doing a good job of home education is the most important thing,

4. Some parents have received a lot of education, and their own qualities as well as their cultural level is relatively high, and they really can't find a good kindergarten, so they choose to raise their children at home in the past three years. The child will be able to be raised at home in these three years.

5. There are also a small number of families who cannot afford to send their children to kindergarten for financial reasons, so they choose to leave their children at home to educate themselves.

Most of the people who choose to go to kindergarten are probably influenced by social and cultural inertia and feel that they should let their children go to kindergarten to receive education. There are also parents who don't want to bring up their children at all, so they throw them into kindergarten and let the teachers take care of them for them. There is also the possibility that family members are too busy and simply do not have the time to look after their children. The vast majority of parents choose to send their children to kindergarten, and in the grand scheme of things this is the right thing to do. However, does it mean that those who do not choose to send their children to kindergarten are wrong in their behavior? I think a comparison can be made by way of contrast.

We can see that this is a child in a family with a "special" preschool, and his day-to-day schedule. Compared to kindergarten, it doesn't seem to be missing anything important, except for the fact that there are more children in kindergarten. But this is a case-by-case basis, and not all families can organize their day in this way. But it does show that "learning" at home can work. It's just that very few people will do it, because it takes a full-time mom's dedication to nurture.

I think this kind of disruptive training model is very different from the traditional education model, but different is not necessarily a flaw. It is the result of socio-economic, human civilization development. Even if there is no concern at the national level about this kind of education, the civil society will automatically come up to break the existing system and tear a hole in the existing model. Professor Zhu Yongxin, in his book The School of the Future, talks about the future of education in the form of learning centers, the future of education is the education of the capable, whoever has the ability to become a teacher. I believe that there are many masters in the private sector who do not have a teaching license, but they are completely by the ability to be a teacher.

We know that the underlying logic of business is to cater, while the underlying logic of education is to change. Education must follow the law of human physical and mental development and serve the law of human physical and mental development; education must follow the law of social development and serve the law of social development. This model of preschool pedagogy in folklore does not violate this logic and law. With careful parental teaching, it can be a good way to promote good nurturing and good education for children in the 0 to 6 year old timeframe. Is this bold attempt not an innovation in the mode and concept of education? Nowadays, school education still follows the education model of more than a hundred years ago, which is a product of the industrial era, with efficiency, standardization and uniformity as the main models. But today's times have changed so much from a hundred years ago that I think it's only natural for them to be different.

With science and technology changing rapidly, human understanding of the human brain has become more and more profound. A large number of brain scientists, brain neuroscientists to conduct more in-depth research on human beings. After extensive and lengthy research and data collection, author Dr. Saskind discovered the decisive influence of the early language environment on children. In other words, the social status of the parents does not influence the academic performance of the child, but the language used by the parents in conversation with the child is the most critical influence. The area of the human brain that masters thinking and learning comes into play before a child is three years old. Parents who miss out on developing their children's language skills can create a gap of 30 million words (with repetition) between different children. She says: A child's early language environment, i.e. the language provided by the parents, largely determines the realization of innate potential. The magic of parental language goes far beyond the simple importation of words. It is the necessary stimulus that determines the dominance, persistence, and pruning of specific neuronal circuits to other neuronal circuits. It is clear that parental language is very important in shaping a child's development. Of course, this has to do with the qualities of the parents themselves, but in general, children are in great need of family care and parental companionship.

There is a book called Love, Money and Children. The book reveals the reasons why different parents choose different parenting styles from an economic point of view, and at the same time analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of these parenting styles, so that parents can be more aware of their own choices, in order to inspire us how to improve our parenting styles. Parents who are financially strong and have a high level of education will place more importance on their parenting of their children, which is referred to as authoritative parenting in the book. There is a strong continuity in the level of education between generations. Children of well-educated parents are more likely to receive a better education, which includes home preschool education. Socio-economic stratification leads to stratification of the population, which also leads to stratification of education, which is why the economics of "special" preschools are sprouting up.

In fact, if you look at past history, you can see that in the past, when the level of social development was not high, most people did not have the conditions to go to kindergarten, and most of them were brought by their parents at home to spend the critical period from 0 to 6 years old. It is just difficult for children to achieve high levels of success under this model, which is a historical limitation. Closer to home, I never went to kindergarten myself, just one year of preschool when I was 6 years old. But I'm still doing well. I'm not sure how much I've learned, but I'm sure I've been able to make up for it.

I've never been opposed to kindergarten, and I'm optimistic about the alternative of home schooling. Both of these completely different modes of education are viable. As long as parents are intentional and don't feel overwhelmed by their children's growth. Not to blindly follow what do not let the child lose in the starting line this kind of pull up seedlings to grow behavior, more to understand the child's physiological, psychological growth of the scientific principles, the use of scientific methods can let the child grow up healthily
