How is gasoline made?
Gasoline is distilled from crude oil, which is untreated oil. Usually, different components in oil will evaporate or boil at different temperatures. Gasoline is often the first to boil into gasoline vapor and be pumped away. When gasoline vapor cools, it will become liquid pure gasoline.
Crude oil is a mixture of various hydrocarbons and a viscous dark brown liquid. It is very wasteful to use crude oil directly, so it is necessary to separate the components in crude oil, usually by rectification, that is, to accurately control the temperature to volatilize the components with a specific boiling point.
