Three elements of laser generation

Three elements of laser generation:

1. activator: the activator of laser must have the characteristics of energy absorption and radiation, and play the role of energy conversion medium when laser is generated. Different activators will affect the working performance of the laser and the laser wavelength generated.

2. Energy input: Energy input is the basis of laser generation inside the laser, which is mainly divided into two types: optical pumping and electronic excitation. Optical pumping usually uses the light beam generated by laser to heat and excite, so that the activator absorbs energy, thus achieving the purpose of excitation. Electron excitation is to use the energy released by electron movement to excite the activator.

3. Resonant cavity: The resonant cavity is a key part of the laser, which consists of two mirrors, one of which is partially transparent and can output the generated laser. The light in the resonant cavity reflects back and forth, forming multi-photon excitation and photon diffusion, thus producing laser. The length of the resonant cavity and the reflectivity of the mirror will affect the wavelength and power of the generated laser.
