Frank Bernieri and Neha Gada-jain from the Department of Psychology of Harvard University once conducted an experiment: two professional interviewers interviewed 98 people for 15 ~ 20 minutes. A group of volunteers rated the interviewers according to the first 15 seconds.
In this way, there is a strong positive correlation between the result of scoring according to the fragment content of 15 seconds and the result obtained by two professional interviewers after interviewing 15 ~ 20 minutes. In other words, the feeling of the first 15 seconds often determines the final interview result.
There is a saying in the field of sales that can explain this phenomenon: people first make emotional decisions and then find rational reasons for them.
This is the truth of the interview: let the interviewer feel that you are right for the first time, and they will automatically confirm themselves, thus strengthening this feeling; And if the interviewer thinks you are wrong the first time, then all you need to do is change their views; These are two things with completely different difficulties.
So, how to make the interviewer "fall in love at first sight" with us through nonverbal skills and make a good start?

1, enter the interview room.
Whether the door of the interview room is closed (except the situation introduced by the company employees), you need to knock at the door. Hold the doorknob with one hand near the door, open the door and enter the room, then turn around and gently close the door with the other hand. The whole process is calm and confident.
2. Shake hands
If the interviewer offers his hand, he should return it with a firm and gentle handshake.
If the interviewer doesn't take the initiative to shake hands, don't reach out and shake hands with the other person, lest the other person be unprepared to attend the embarrassing situation. The handshake time is controlled at 3~5 seconds.
Hands should be clean and nails should be trimmed;

3. Sitting posture

4. Other non-verbal communication
Expression: smiling in modesty, gentle in seriousness, smiling throughout the interview process. In order to show that you have understood and are interested in the questions raised by the interviewer, you can nod your head at the right time or ask and answer questions appropriately.
Eyes: At the beginning of the interview, keep your eyes between the eyebrows or the tip of the nose of the interviewer to show your frankness and arrogance. By the end of the interview, the atmosphere is harmonious. You can cover the interviewer's face with your eyes and look away, which will give the interviewer a feeling of relaxed bondage. When there are many interviewers, we should look around for ways to take care of the interviewers present and satisfy their demands for attention and respect.
Gestures: Don't use too many gestures during the interview, otherwise it will distract the interviewer.
