Currently China's manufacturers Huawei, millet, vivo have adopted this technology, so for the international manufacturers as Samsung certainly does not exist in the technical aspects of the problem!

It just so happens that in recent days, Samsung held a presidential fan symposium in Wuhan, in response to this issue, Samsung's co-CEO Gao Dongzhen said: In fact, as early as two or three years ago, Samsung can realize the screen fingerprint identification technology, just until today, this technology has not been able to reach the point of maturity, so Samsung does not intend to apply it to their own cell phone products on top of.

I think Gao Dongzhen answer is very reasonable, Samsung, unlike domestic cell phone manufacturers, the main market is concentrated in China, Samsung's cell phone market is more of a global perspective.

Samsung, as an international manufacturer, must shoulder greater responsibility. The application of any one of the technology, need to consider more things compared to domestic manufacturers, so Samsung Electronics applied to their own cell phone products above can only be more mature technology!

Currently there are two main screen fingerprint recognition technology:

One, optical screen fingerprint recognition. Huawei, millet, vivo these manufacturers use the screen fingerprint identification is optical screen fingerprint identification.

This recognition technology utilizes the characteristics of the OLED screen self-luminous, when it works, the OLED screen will increase its own screen brightness, collect the fingerprint information affixed to the top of the screen and then converted to other signals for authentication.

Then this screen fingerprint recognition program, need to OLED screen in the work of a moment to increase the screen brightness to the maximum value, and can only work in a fixed area.

So this fingerprint recognition program has a lot of room for improvement in recognition speed and accuracy.

Two, ultrasonic screen fingerprint recognition

Ultrasonic screen fingerprint recognition and optical screen fingerprint recognition is almost the same, but it does not need the screen to increase its own brightness, and does not need to be in a specific area to work, in the whole screen area ultrasonic fingerprint recognition can work.

So, theoretically, ultrasonic fingerprint recognition is more mature than optical fingerprint recognition. However, the ultrasonic fingerprint recognition technology has not yet been officially put into commercial use.

So synthesizing these several reasons, Samsung's approach is actually correct!
