What are marriage rituals?

In ancient China, the word "wedding" for the union of husband and wife was written as "dusk ceremony", which is one of the essence of traditional culture. Ancient people believed that dusk was an auspicious time, so the ceremony of marrying a wife was performed at dusk, hence the name.

The evening ceremony is one of the five rites of passage, and is the second milestone in a man's life after his crown or a woman's maturity. Marriage etiquette includes the etiquette program for the entire process of marriage negotiation, engagement and marriage, which is mainly divided into the rite of becoming a wife and the rite of becoming a woman. The rite of becoming a wife starts with six rites, namely, the ceremony of accepting the bride's name, asking for her name, asking for auspiciousness, accepting the sign, asking for a date and welcoming her in person. In ancient China, the dissolution of marriage has also formed a complete set of systems.
