Dear all, a question for you, how to kill H. pylori bacteria
Opinion:
The eradication rate of Helicobacter pylori (HP) was evaluated by one-week triple therapy based on proton pump inhibitor (PPI), bismuth (CBS), and H+ receptor antagonist (H2RA), respectively. METHODS: 65 patients with HP (+) were randomized into three groups, all of which were given one-week triple therapy for HP eradication.Group A consisted of PPI 20mg + amoxicillin 1.0g + metronidazole 0.4g all Bid, Group B consisted of CBS 120mg + clarithromycin 0.25g + metronidazole 0.4g all Bid, and Group C consisted of H2RA (tamaglumic acid or famotidine 20mg - ranitidine 150mg)Bid+Amoxicillin 1.0+Metronidazole 0.4g all Bid,and review ^14C-UBT after stopping the drug for at least 4 weeks.RESULTS: The eradication rate of group A was 85.7% (18/21); group B was 87.5% (21/14); and group C was 80% (16/20). CONCLUSION: A one-week triple regimen of PPI-based and bismuth-based regimens containing clarithromycin resulted in similar eradication rates but did not reach 90%.
