What kinds of African dances are there?
The types of African black dance art are embodied in these aspects: religious dance, imitation dance, symbolic dance and mass dance.
1. Religious Dance
African black dance has a strong religious color, and is often performed in religious sacrificial ceremonies, such as praying for gods, paying homage to ancestors, praying for a bumper harvest in agriculture and a prosperous population. This kind of dance often appears in the form of mask dance. It includes worship dance, exorcism dance, funeral dance, rain praying dance, mantra dance and blessing fishing and hunting dance.
