Thai men use a piece of cloth wrapped into pants

The front and back of the cloth and a knot make a pair of pants.

Though in the old days the loin cloth was an integral part of the Thai way of life, it could be worn when bathing, used to wipe the body, to wrap things, to tie the waist, to repel mosquitoes, and for a wide range of purposes. When foreign cloths were imported into Thailand, the role of the traditional Thai loin cloth was reduced, but people in the provinces still like to use the cloth in their daily lives, and sometimes give it to each other as gifts with ancient values.

The cloth varies in different parts of the Thai culture, with the Northeast having a cultural tradition of weaving the cloth with silk threads, and also having a fixed cloth for one family, while in the central region, the cloth is mainly made of cotton threads.
