How to wear headphones without dropping them

Hang the cord from your ear, place the headphones securely in your ear, or use the attachment that came with the headphones.

The first thing you can do to prevent your headphones from falling out is to hang the cord from your ear. Instead of inserting the headphones and letting the cord dangle straight down the ear canal, insert the headphones "upside down" and wrap the cord around the back of the ear. It may be a little awkward at first, but it prevents the headphones from slipping out every time the cord is pulled slightly.

Or place the headphones firmly in your ears. Headphones fit snugly in our ear canals, and if they don't fit comfortably in our ears, we need to push harder to put them in. When placing each headphone, use one hand to gently stretch the earlobe to open the ear canal, then release it so that the ear cavity forms a tight seal around the headphone.

You can also use the accessories that come with the headphones. Don't overlook the silicone earbuds that come with the headphones; try different sizes to see which fit us best. One of our ears may be slightly larger than the other, and we may need to use two different sizes of earbuds, which can also be effective in preventing the headphones from falling out.

Notes.

Be careful not to use cotton swabs to clean your ears here. Earwax buildup can cause discomfort or even dislodge our wearing headphones. Using cotton swabs to remove earwax can actually cause it to be pushed up against the eardrum, causing a blockage and potentially leading to discomfort when wearing headphones.
