Modern folk dance researchers synthesize the emergence, development, and characteristics of folk dance to summarize the concept of folk dance as follows: "the process of the development of the material and spiritual civilization of a nation or region.
The dance form created collectively by the working masses and passed on among the masses, and still in circulation, has distinctive regional and national characteristics, and expresses the cultural background under the economic conditions of a certain period of history, but also injects new ingredients with the development of social life."
