Why China's traditional martial arts don't work now
Lack of systematic rule system.
It's not that traditional martial arts don't work, but traditional Chinese martial arts such as palm strikes, palm chops, eagle claw throat locks, grabbing and hitching, tiger claws and other moves are very commonly used and practical in self-defense fighting, but have not yet been adapted to wearing boxing gloves (once you wear gloves, these moves are completely null and void), and according to the rules of the ring fighting style.
So even though they practiced traditional martial arts and competed in modern ring fighting, they were not using traditional Chinese martial arts techniques.
