Under the wave of "new infrastructure", Tencent helps the digital construction of the automobile industry.
A few days ago, China held a meeting in Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, clearly stressing the need to "accelerate the construction of new infrastructure such as 5G networks and data centers". At the same time, local governments have come to an end, not only including "new infrastructure" in the key investment plan in 2020, but also investing as much as 40 trillion yuan.
As a result, the concept of "new infrastructure" (short for new infrastructure) has once again stood on the cusp because of the active deployment of the central and local governments.
What is "new infrastructure"?
It is different from the "old infrastructure" proposed in 2008, that is, the well-known "Iron Gong Ji" (railways, highways, airports, ports, water conservancy, etc. ), and "new infrastructure" focuses more on highlighting the new direction of industrial transformation and upgrading, reflecting the general trend of accelerating the development of high-end industries, generally referring to 5G infrastructure, UHV, intercity high-speed railway and urban rail transit, new energy vehicle charging piles, big data centers, manpower, etc.
After the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, some traditional industries were hit. The central government's key deployment of "new infrastructure" has given the weak economy a "reassurance" on the one hand, and pressed the "acceleration button" for the development of the industrial Internet on the other.
As the pillar industries of the national economy, automobiles and travel have also become the focus of betting on "new infrastructure". Long before the concept of "new infrastructure" was put forward, head technology companies such as BAT had already smelled the opportunity and seized the opportunity to enter the automobile industry. Take Tencent as an example. Although it is not the earliest entrant, it has quickly formed its own style of play in the fields of car networking and autonomous driving 5G road coordination.
5G——? The key to "new infrastructure"
Let's talk about 5G first.
In the "new infrastructure", 5G is listed as the key "new infrastructure" to support the digitalization, networking and intelligent transformation of the economy and society, and plays a very important role in the construction of smart cars, smart transportation and smart cities.
The focus of deploying 5 G now is to promote the commercialization of 5 G.
In February of this year, China 1 1 ministries and commissions jointly issued the "Intelligent Vehicle Innovation and Development Strategy", clearly pointing out that it is necessary to combine 5G? Commercial deployment? Push? 5G? Collaborative construction with the Internet of Vehicles. The acceleration of the commercial speed of 5G can bring huge imagination space for the development of the automobile industry, especially in the field of vehicle-road coordination, which will be the most important battlefield for 5G commercialization.
In this invisible battlefield, Tencent preempted the establishment of the Future Network Lab, which is the first research team in China Internet companies to focus on 5G technology and applications. In May last year, Tencent Future Network Lab officially released the 5G vehicle-road collaborative open source platform, focusing on the field of vehicle-road collaboration based on edge computing, connecting people, vehicles, roads and clouds, and focusing on solving the industry pain points such as low penetration rate of terminal equipment, no mainstream software reaching users, lack of effective connection of road equipment and fragmentation of road information.
At present, Tencent Future Network Lab has reached cooperation with Highway Institute of Ministry of Communications, National Engineering Laboratory of Green and Safe Construction Technology for Urban Rail Transit, Intel, Nokia, China Unicom, Neusoft, * * * and other enterprises to jointly promote the rapid application of intelligent networked vehicles in the 5G era.
Internet of Vehicles-the "Leading Goose" for the Landing of ——5G Applications
For 5G commercialization, you have to mention the Internet of Vehicles.
In the industry, some people compare the Internet of Vehicles to the "leading geese" in the application of 5G "key new infrastructure". Driven by the three elements of policy, industrial chain and 5G commercialization, it is expected to usher in a full-scale outbreak from next year. For car companies, in order to realize digital evolution quickly, the first task now is to win the first place in the dispute of car networking.
Therefore, car companies have also begun to actively cooperate with Internet technology companies, and in cooperation, Internet companies also have their own clear positioning. Zhong Xuedan, vice president of Tencent Smart Travel, has repeatedly stressed that Tencent does not touch hardware or operating system, creating scenes and experiences of cars at the upper level, connecting the Internet ecosystem and helping car companies connect users. What did Tencent do based on this "connector" positioning?
Tencent car networking map has officially landed on the bus conceptually. Through Tencent's latest TAI eco-car networking, car owners can experience applications specially designed for driving scenes, such as WeChat car version, which can safely and naturally interact with the real world while reducing the use of mobile phones, and get a seamless experience before getting on, during driving and after getting off. At present, Tencent has cooperated with best-selling models of its own brands such as Guangzhou Automobile, Changan, Great Wall and Dongfeng Liu Qi, and is also exploring cooperation with international brands such as BMW.
Auto-driving-the weather vane of "new infrastructure" of automobiles
In the "new infrastructure", 5G, artificial intelligence and big data are widely used in autonomous driving.
Recently, the country's actions in autonomous driving are also more frequent. First, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission 1 1 ministries and commissions issued the "Intelligent Vehicle Innovation and Development Strategy", which specifically deployed the related work of autonomous driving; Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also released the draft for approval of the recommended national standard "Automatic Driving Automation Classification" and publicized it. For the first time, the classification standard for self-driving cars in China was formulated, and the driving automation was divided into 0 to 5 levels.
As early as many years ago, all walks of life have paid a lot of attention to autonomous driving. With the efforts of the government, automobile industry, Internet industry and other parties, laws and regulations related to autonomous driving, high-precision maps, radar technology, 5G/V2X and road testing have made considerable breakthroughs.
In China, Tencent's autopilot team has not only built three platforms, namely, high-precision map platform, data cloud platform and simulation platform, which integrate autopilot R&D, testing, evaluation and verification, but also integrated a complete chain of autopilot technology solutions and inclusive, innovative and sustainable smart city solutions to help autopilot R&D and testing, and assist in the formulation and verification of relevant standards.
At present, Tencent Autopilot has teamed up with the National Intelligent Networked Automobile (Changsha) Experimental Zone to build the "Intelligent Networked Automobile Simulation Laboratory" project in Hunan Province, and is committed to achieving safe and efficient smart car experiments in the simulation environment. In addition, through the strategic cooperation with BMW China, Tencent is also helping BMW to build a high-performance data development platform and accelerate the research and development of BMW's autonomous driving in the China market.
At present, the "new infrastructure" policy launched by the state will have a very significant positive impact on the future development of the automobile industry and even the construction of smart cities. For builders of "new infrastructure" like Tencent, the central government's frequent attention to "new infrastructure" not only brought policy dividends, but also inspired their determination to build. It is believed that under the guidance of new policies and technologies, China automobile industry will soon embark on the fast track of high-quality development.
