Once upon a time, there was a little red hen living on the farm. She is a friend of a lazy dog, a sleepy cat and a noisy yellow duck.

One day, the little red hen found some seeds on the ground. The little red hen had an idea. She can sow seeds.

The little red hen asked her friends, "Who will help me sow?"

"Not me," cried the lazy dog.

"Not me," purred the sleepy cat.

"Not me," croaked the noisy yellow duck.

"Then I will," said the little red hen. So the little red hen planted the seeds herself.

When the seeds grow up, the little red hen asks her friends, "Who will help me cut the wheat?"

"Not me," cried the lazy dog.

"Not me," purred the sleepy cat.

"Not me," croaked the noisy yellow duck.

"Then I will," said the little red hen. So the little red hen cuts the wheat alone.

When all the wheat has been cut, the little red hen asks her friends, "Who will help me take the wheat to the mill and grind it into flour?"

"Not me," cried the lazy dog.

"Not me," purred the sleepy cat.

"Not me," croaked the noisy yellow duck.

"Then I will," said the little red hen. So the little red hen took the wheat to the mill alone, ground it into flour, and then carried the big bag of flour back to the farm.

The tired little red hen asked her friends, "Who will help me bake bread?"

"Not me," cried the lazy dog.

"Not me," purred the sleepy cat.

"Not me," croaked the noisy yellow duck.

"Then I will," said the little red hen. So the little red hen baked her own bread.

After eating the bread, the tired little red hen asked her friends, "Who will help me eat the bread?"

"I will," cried the lazy dog.

"I will," muttered the sleepy cat.

"I will," croaked the noisy yellow duck.

"no!" Said the little red hen. "I will." The little red hen ate all the bread by herself.
