Defects of natural language

The opposite of natural language is logical language. Natural language is a communication tool between human brain and computer, and logical language is a communication tool between human brain and computer. Cognitive science holds that thinking and cognition are logical operations of knowledge, and any computerized natural language analysis mainly depends on the expression of this analysis by logical language. Cognitive science theory, which studies mental expression and its operation, pursues the material embodiment of mental research, and finally leads linguistic research to natural science research. The highly formal description of natural language is very important for the mechanical imitation of computer programs, but understanding imitation is different from mechanical imitation, and the difference between them is very similar to the difference between formal operation and meaning operation in natural language. Mechanical imitation involves formal nature, while understanding imitation involves quasi-semantic nature. At present, computers are mainly based on mechanical imitation, and talk to human natural language through logical language.

Modern logic, as a tool to analyze natural language, thinks that the defects of natural language are: (1) the hierarchical structure of expression is not clear enough; (2) Individualized cognitive model is not clear enough; (3) The jurisdiction of quantifiers is not exact; (4) The word order of sentence components is not fixed; (5) Form and semantics do not correspond.

Judging logical language from the perspective of natural language has the following shortcomings: (1) The types of initial words are not diverse enough; (2) There are fewer kinds of quantifiers; (3) The range of quantifiers in the formula series cannot be dynamically expanded; (4) Due to the lack of context, language is inefficient in conveying information.
