Traditional Chinese Medicine Characteristics of Radix Angelicae Pubescentis

Source: The root of Angelica pubescens belonging to Umbelliferae.

Personal identification: 1. The root is slightly cylindrical, with 2~3 or more branches at the lower part.

2. The surface is grayish brown or brown, the root is swollen, and there are many horizontal wrinkles. There are stem and leaf residues or depressions at the top, longitudinal wrinkles at the bottom of the root, raised transverse lenticels and slightly prominent fine root marks.

3. Hard, with brown ring pattern on the cross section, grayish white skin with scattered brown spots, and grayish yellow to yellowish brown wood.

4. It has special fragrance, bitter taste and slightly numb tongue.

Efficacy: dispelling wind and dampness, dispelling cold and relieving pain. Treat arthralgia due to wind-cold-dampness, soreness of waist and knees, hand and foot pain, chronic tracheitis, headache and toothache.

1 About platelet aggregation and experimental thrombosis: The extract of Radix Angelicae Pubescentis (H6F4)( 1g extract is equivalent to 19.6g crude drug) can inhibit ADP-induced platelet aggregation in rats in vitro, and the inhibition rate of aggregation increases with the increase of drug concentration. Intraperitoneal injection of 0.4g/kgH6F4 can inhibit thrombosis of carotid artery bypass in rats. When 1.0g/kg, its inhibition rate can reach 5 1. 1%. H6F4 can also inhibit thrombosis in vitro formed by Chandler method, which not only delays the occurrence of snowstorm, CTFT and TFT, but also shortens the length of wet thrombus and reduces the wet weight. At the same time, it can obviously prolong the bleeding time of mouse tail. The related components of Radix Angelicae Pubescentis, dihydrorosin acetate, dihydrorosin, methoxyrosin and dihydrorosin glucoside also have obvious inhibitory activities on ADP-induced platelet aggregation in rats in vitro. When the final concentration is 1mg/ml, the inhibitory rates are 42.211.3% respectively. Methoxy parsley (osthole) can inhibit platelet aggregation induced by ADP, arachidonic acid, PAF, collagen ionophore A23 187 and thrombin.

2. Effect on cardiovascular system: The dichloromethane extract of Radix Angelicae Pubescentis mainly contains coumarins such as methoxyparsley, which has the activity of antagonizing calcium channel blocker receptors, and is related to blood pressure and heart rhythm. At the dosage of 20 and 10mg/kg, the arterial pressure of cats decreased by 50% and 30% respectively, and the duration was 2 hours and 1 hour respectively. However, at the dose of 1-2mg/kg in rats, arterial pressure and myocardial contractility increased, which stimulated breathing. It is also reported that the crude preparation of Radix Angelicae Pubescentis (0. 1-0.5ml/kg) has antihypertensive effect on anesthetized dogs and cats. Angelica pubescens also acts on calcium channel blocker receptors.

3. Spasmodic effect: pilocarpine, xanthotoxin and isoimperatorin have obvious spasmolytic effect on rabbit ileum.

4. Analgesic, sedative and anti-inflammatory effects:
