Phonology and scale of the twelve laws
1, phonology
China ancient music also used twelve absolute pitches, which were also semitones. It's called the Twelve Laws. Their musical names are: Huang Zhong-Lu Da-Lee Tae-Jia Zhong-Gu Xi-Zhong Lu-Yan Bin-Lin Zhong-Yi Ze-Nan Lu-Wupai-Ying Zhong. The research results of China's ancient music show that there are two systems of the absolute pitch of the Twelve Laws.
Huang Zhong =f 1, which is called the first pitch system and iron ruler's law; Huang Zhong =c 1, which is called the two-pitch system, and the Northern Dynasties is also called the Sui and Tang Dynasties' Too Regular Law. According to the traditional law, the corresponding relationship between the Twelve Laws of ancient China and the Twelve Absolute Pitches of Western music is: Huang Zhong-Luda-Taiqun-Clamping Bell-Gu Xi-Zhonglu-Yan Bin-Lin Zhong-Yize-South Road-No Beat-Picking Bell.
c 1-# c 1-d 1-be 1-e 1-f 1-# f 1-g 1-ba 668。 . . . . . It is called six methods and ranks in even positions. . . . . . It is called six laws, so the twelve laws are also collectively called "laws".
2. Scale
There are many ways to form scale. In the Twelve Laws, it is assumed that we take the yellow bell as the first sound, and then choose Taiqun,,,, and five laws to form a scale, and the volume names are named "Gong, Shang, Jiao, Zheng, Yu" in turn, which is the "pentatonic scale" in ancient China.
It is not difficult to see that the relationship between the angle and the sign is a whole tone plus a semitone, and the relationship between the other two adjacent tones is a whole tone. This is actually the five tones of 1 2 3 5 6 in the seven-tone scale we mentioned earlier.
You can choose any one of the twelve laws as the Gong Yin and decide what tone it is. This is called "phase rotation as Gong Yin". The five tones of "Gong, Shang, Jiao, Zheng and Yu" occupy a very important position in China ancient music, and are called "Andrew". In fact, there are also sounds similar to 4 and 7 in China's ancient scales, which are called "partiality".
