Where did Kubuz first appear?
This instrument first appeared in Kazakh folk music.
The history of this musical instrument can be traced back to ancient times. The earliest musical instrument is also called Leke Kubuzi, which is the oldest stringed instrument among Kazakhs. Its body is arched, with only one ponytail string and no fingerboard in its neck.
This instrument was originally used as the accompaniment instrument of Tiermai, the most primitive and earliest singing form of Kazakhs. Timur Mai is a traditional folk singing method of Kazak people. Generally, a person plays, sings, sits or stands by himself. Kubuzi is often used as an accompaniment instrument when singing.
