The gate of hell opened in early July and closed on July 30.

In the traditional culture of China, the seventh month of the lunar calendar is a "ghost month". The first day of July is the first day of the "Death Gate". From the first day of July when the door of death was opened to the 30th when it was closed, there were many homeless ghosts when the ghosts of the underworld returned to the deceased to reunite with their relatives. In addition to offering sacrifices to lonely souls, it also undertakes the task of praying for a bumper harvest. On the night of Shigu, every household will burn incense at home to pray for a bumper harvest of rice and put incense on the ground. This is called "planting rice" (transplanting rice). The more you plant, the better, which symbolizes the bumper harvest of rice in autumn.

4. Burning lanterns: There are two ways to put lanterns on Ghost Festival. One is to take your bad luck as far away as possible. At this time, it is very taboo for other people's sky lanterns to fall in their own places. If they fall, they must be released again. Secondly, every family wants their dead ancestors to enter the Elysium, and putting lanterns on Halloween is to illuminate the way for ancestors to ascend to the Elysium.

Some big families should make more and give them to relatives. The main purpose of eggplant cake is "serving". After serving, adults and children will share it to avoid waste. Fried eggplant cake, shaped like a half moon, with fluffy and crisp skin and delicious stuffing, is also an attractive food.

6. Eat Duck: On the Mid-Autumn Festival on July 15th of the lunar calendar, many places in the country will choose to eat duck. It turns out that "duck" means "pressure", which is homophonic. Eating ducks is to crush ghosts. As for how to eat, you can do it according to your own preferences. As a "duck capital", the way ducks eat is self-evident and varied. On Halloween, you might as well "chop a duck" to suppress evil spirits.
