Tie-dye dye mixing ratio

Tie-dye dye mixing ratio is adjusted according to different dyes and fabrics, the amount of dyes should be 5% to 10% of the total weight, while the amount of salt and alkali should be 1% to 2% of the total weight.

Tie-dye dyes usually use natural plant dyes, such as indigo, sisal red and carmine. When choosing dyes, attention should be paid to their bright color, good dyeing fastness, environmentally friendly and harmless characteristics. Soak the selected dyes in water for a period of time according to the desired color shade in order to fully extract the dye pigment.

The dosage of dye is usually 5% to 10% of the total weight of the fabric. The exact amount can be adjusted according to the texture of the fabric, the color shade and the concentration of the dye. Generally speaking, the amount of dye can be increased for fabrics with loose texture and darker color requirements, while the amount of dye can be reduced for fabrics with compact texture and lighter color requirements.

Salt dosage: Salt plays a role in tie-dyeing to promote dyeing and color fixing. The amount of salt usually accounts for 1% to 2% of the total weight of the fabric. Sprinkle the salt evenly on the soaked fabric, and then rub it well to make the salt evenly penetrate into the fabric fibers.

Alkali in tie-dyeing plays a role in adjusting the pH of the dyeing liquid, which helps to improve the dyeing fastness. The amount of alkali is usually 1% to 2% of the total weight of the fabric. Dissolve the lye in water, and then put the soaked fabric into the lye solution for a period of time, so that the fabric can fully absorb the lye.

How to use tie-dye dyes:

1. Prepare the dyes: choose dyes suitable for tie-dye. Natural plant dyes such as indigo, Syzygium red and so on are common choices, they are colorful and environmentally friendly. Mix the dyes according to the proportion, add the right amount of water, mix well and set aside.

2, wet the fabric: the fabric to be tie-dyed into the water, fully wet. Then gently squeeze out the excess water to keep the fabric wet.

3, tie knot fabric: according to the design of the pattern, the wet fabric to tie knot. You can use rubber bands, thread or fabric strips and other aids to tie the knot. The knotting method can be diversified, can be tied into different shapes and patterns.

4. Dyeing: Put the knotted fabric into the prepared dye and make sure the fabric is fully immersed in the dye. Depending on the concentration of the dye and the texture of the fabric, the dyeing time may vary. Generally speaking, the dyeing time ranges from a few minutes to a few hours. During this time, you can gently turn the fabric to make the dyeing more even.

5, washing and drying: After the dyeing is completed, remove the fabric from the dye and rinse it with water to remove excess dye. Then dry the fabric, avoiding direct sunlight, so as not to affect the color. After drying, the tie-dye work is finished.
