What are the advantages and disadvantages of FRP helmet?

Common material of safety helmet: (1) FRP safety helmet: mainly used in metallurgical high-temperature workplaces, oil field drilling and forest logging, power supply lines, high-rise building construction and cold area construction scenes. (2) Polycarbonate plastic safety helmet: it is mainly used for oil field drilling, forest logging, power supply lines, building construction and other operations. (3)ABS plastic safety helmet: mainly used in indoor normal temperature workplaces with high impact strength, such as mining and machinery industries. (4) Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene plastic safety helmet: it has a wide range of applications, such as metallurgy, chemical industry, mining, construction, machinery, electric power, transportation, forestry, geology and other jobs. (5) Modified polypropylene plastic safety helmet: mainly used in metallurgy, construction, forestry, electric power, mines, wells, transportation and other jobs. (6) Safety helmet for belt conveyor: mainly used in coal mines, underground, tunnels, culverts and other places. When wearing it, there is no chin strap. (7) Plastic miner's cap: The product performance is basically the same as that of rubber miner's cap except that it is more resistant to high temperature.

Advantages and disadvantages of three helmet materials: PE plastic is polyethylene plastic. PE has excellent physical and chemical properties: corrosion resistance, electrical insulation (especially high-frequency insulation), which can be modified by chlorination and irradiation or reinforced by glass fiber. Low pressure polyethylene has high melting point, rigidity, hardness and strength, low water absorption, good electrical properties, radiation resistance, shock absorption and wear resistance. ABS resin has excellent impact resistance, heat resistance, low temperature resistance, chemical resistance and electrical properties, and also has the characteristics of easy processing, stable product size and good surface gloss. Advantages: ABS has excellent mechanical properties and excellent impact strength, and can be used at extremely low temperature; ABS has excellent wear resistance, good dimensional stability and oil resistance, and can be used for bearings under medium load and rotating speed. Disadvantages: the creep resistance of ABS is greater than that of PSF and PC, but less than that of PA and POM. The bending strength and compressive strength of ABS are poor in plastics. The mechanical properties of ABS are greatly influenced by temperature. Glass fiber reinforced plastic, also known as GRP, is a fiber-reinforced plastic, which generally refers to unsaturated polyester, epoxy resin and phenolic resin reinforced by glass fiber as the matrix. Advantages: light weight, high strength, and the relative density is between 1.5~2.0, which is only 1/4~ 1/5 of carbon steel, but the tensile strength is close to or even higher than that of carbon steel, and the specific strength is comparable to that of high-grade alloy steel. Disadvantages: low elastic modulus; Poor long-term temperature resistance; Aging phenomenon; Shear strength between low layers.
