Has the Dragon Boat Festival been successfully applied by Koreans?

Hello. The Dragon Boat Festival is not registered in Korea, which is a misunderstanding of this issue by Chinese people.

Influenced by China, South Korea also celebrates the Dragon Boat Festival. In 2005, gangneung danoje festival was designated as the oral and intangible heritage of mankind by UNESCO.

However, the success of South Korea's application for World Heritage does not mean that the Dragon Boat Festival has been registered, but that "Korean folk custom of celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival" has entered the world heritage.

Gangneung danoje festival, South Korea, started from offering sacrifices to the gods in Daguanling. During the event, various witchcraft and sacrificial ceremonies will be held, as well as traditional games and experience activities such as skipping rope and mask making, as well as wonderful witchcraft performances, mask dances and farmhouse performances.

So this folk custom is different from the Dragon Boat Festival in China.

In 2009, China's "Dragon Boat Festival" was selected into the United Nations "Intangible Cultural Heritage List", which is the real Dragon Boat Festival selected into the World Heritage List.

But this incident tells us that South Korea and other countries are ahead of China in the protection of traditional culture, and China is not optimistic about the protection and inheritance of traditional culture.
