Customs of Lantern Festival in Guangxi
1, eat dumplings
The common custom of Lantern Festival in most parts of Guangxi is to eat glutinous rice balls! Tangyuan means reunion. The whole family get together to eat tangyuan, which is harmonious and beautiful. There are two kinds of jiaozi in Guangxi: solid and stuffed. The former is to knead glutinous rice flour into finger-sized jiaozi, and add a proper amount of sugar water to cook it. The latter is made of sesame, peanut, nut, osmanthus fragrans, sucrose, lard, etc. And use glutinous rice flour as a leather bag. It is sweet and delicious, and it is a necessary food for the Lantern Festival. As the saying goes, harmony is more precious. Family harmony and family reunion are important factors of a complete family. Therefore, on the Lantern Festival, we Guangxi people must have a family reunion and eat jiaozi with our families.
Step 2 eat zongzi
People in most places in Guangxi choose to eat glutinous rice balls at the Lantern Festival, but Zhuang people in Guangxi prefer to eat big zongzi at the Lantern Festival, especially a kind of big zongzi called "mother zongzi", which generally weighs about three or four kilograms. Eating "mother zongzi" on Lantern Festival is a long-standing custom with far-reaching influence. Mother who eats zongzi will give you the spirit and strength to put into spring ploughing production, which indicates a good start for the year, favorable weather and abundant crops.
Step 3 eat oil balls
In Shanglin, Jingxi and other places in Guangxi, people still have the custom of eating oil balls. Some places are also called fried piles and oil piles, which are all in the shape of small balls. They are small and round, which means reunion. These oil balls express everyone's expectation for reunion. When I was a child, on the Lantern Festival, what I expected most was that my mother cooked me oil balls to eat. So friends come to Guangxi, I suggest you try it.
Step 4 step on the windmill
The Zhuang people's association in Longlin Autonomous County, Guangxi held a windmill riding activity on the 15th day of the first month. The people stepping on the windmill are in groups of four, each with a wooden frame. First, the touchdown person gives a hard push, and then the four people turn around at the same time. When they turn to the ground, they push hard again to keep the wind wheel rotating. At the same time, the person with more turns and beautiful posture wins. Stepping on the windmill can not only exercise people's will, promote physical and mental health, but also enrich people's cultural life.
Lantern Festival The biggest activity of the Lantern Festival in Guangxi is the Lantern Festival. As the saying goes, "Thirty nights of fire, fifteen nights of lights". During the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, the Lantern Festival prevailed in Guangxi. Before the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Lantern Festival was the most prosperous in Guilin, Wuzhou, Guiping, Yulin and Qinzhou, and the "Dragon Lantern Tour" in Guilin was the most spectacular.
