Yangge is where the folk art

Yangge is mainly a folk art in the north of China, a traditional folk dance popular in Shaanxi, Hebei, Henan, Shandong and Northeast China. There are four main genres: Shaanxi Yangge, Shandong Yangge, Hebei Yangge, and Northeast Yangge.

1, northern Shaanxi.

Shaanxi rice-planting song is circulating in Shaanxi Loess Plateau has a wide range of mass and representative of the local traditional dance, also known as "haunted red fire", "haunted rice-planting song", "haunted social fire", "haunted Yangge" and so on.

It is mainly distributed in Yulin, Yan'an, Suide, Mizhi and other places in Shaanxi Province, with a long history, rich in content and diverse forms. Among them, Suide and Mizhi Yangge are the most representative.

In November 2019, the List of Representative Project Protection Units of National Intangible Cultural Heritage was announced, and the Suide County Cultural Center was qualified as a protection unit for the Shanbei Yangge project.

2, Jiaodong.

Jiaodong Yangge refers to the Yangge popularized in the area of Jiaodong Peninsula. The masses in this area also called the rice-planting song "play will" or "play". Jiaodong Yangge has a wide circulation, such as Haiyang, Wendeng, Jimo, Penglai, Yixian, Weihai and other places of Yangge belongs to a type.

And all are based on the "Running Sichuan" ditty, forming a more stereotyped folk song and dance form with three lines and a gong.

Famous rice-planting songs include "Liberation", "The Three Feuds" and "Zhang Debao Returns to the Team".

3, Northeast.

Yangge is China (mainly in the northern region) is widely circulated in a very mass and representative of the Han folk dance class name, different regions have different titles and styles.

The Northeast Yangge has a witty form and a unique style, and the vast black land gives it a pure and bold spirit and flavor, integrating spiciness, humor, quietness and stability, and bringing out the warmth and simplicity of the people of the Northeast and their strong and soft character traits to the fullest extent.

The most important feature of the Northeast Yangge is that it is steady with waves, waves with stems, stems with buckles, stepping on the board and twisting on the waist. At the same time, the many different kinds of "flowers in the hands", the fast-paced and elastic drums, and the funny, playful, quiet, steady and beautiful rhythms are all the characteristics of the Northeast Rice-planting Song.

4, Jidong.

The Jidong Rice-planting Song is a kind of folk dance in Hebei Province. It is roughly divided into the roles of Niu (girl), Chou, Gongzi and Laohui, and except for Laohui (a spirited middle-aged woman) who holds a mallet, the others dance with a folding fan, with comprehensive performing skills and unique features in characterization.

One of the most prominent performances is the clown, a naive, witty and optimistic image of peasants, coupled with the close cooperation of the suona, which is often blown anthropomorphically to accentuate the performance, making the audience unable to stop laughing.
